About Encino

A hilly section of Los Angeles, California is home to Encino real estate. To be more specific it is located in the central area of the southern San Fernando Valley and the northern rise of the Santa Monica Mountains. A portion of the Los Angeles River runs through Encino and this area is one of only two unpaved areas within Encino.  The Spanish translation of Encino is evergreen, which was part of the original name – Rancho Los Encinos (Ranch of the Evergreens). A trail is accessible via the Westridge fire road for mountain bikers, hiker and equestrians. Dogs may accompany their owners off-leash if they are well-behaved and kept under constant supervision. A 20,000-acre park – Big Red – adjoins the Westridge-Canyonback Wilderness Park.

Residents of Encino real estate may access the park from the San Fernando Valley by taking the 405 freeway to Mulholland Drive west for 2.7 miles. After a walk of about ten minutes, you will arrive at the park entrance and the trail.
